New Year, New You! Outgrowing people

We have said goodbye to 2016 and embrace 2017 with open arms. As we embark on a new year, we work on ourselves externally and internally. However, as we shed pounds and make other changes to our lifestyles we often forget about the people in our lives that may also have a negative effect on us.

There can not truly be change if you're surrounded by the same people and situations that hold you back!

I recall a period of my life where I found myself in that very situation. Having certain people around me was draining me mentally, physically, and spiritually. At times I would think about letting them go, but then the guilt kicked in and I actually felt like I wasn't being a good friend if I ditched them. But as time passed and as I became self-aware, I realized some things had to go in order for me to grow.

You need to surround yourself with people who are constantly pushing themselves for the better. If you are persistently surrounding yourself with negative people it will hinder your progression in life. Why choose to spend time with people that are holding you back when you can surround yourself with people that can elevate you?
